I have an SA dagger that my father bought from an antique store in Buenos Aires many years ago he gave it to me recently. I have researched about the knife and found out about the Sturmabteilung. I can't find any information about what the brownshirts did during and after WW2, I only know about how small their influence was during WW2. I know that a lot of nazis escaped to South America after the war, but I don't know how a knife from the brownshirts ended up in Argentina. Did some members of the SA become members of the SS? Did a war criminal find the knife somewhere and keep it? Did any brownshirts escape to South America? I have so many questions, I am very curious about the story of this knife's long journey. A bunch of you know way more than I do about this topic, what are your thoughts and speculations? I want to learn.

Sturmabteilung was active before the war (1925 - 1940/44) but im not a specialist in this. Lots of reasons why this unit stopped and at the end illegal.

But about the Dagger, this was a souvenir, VERY popular, so popular that you find many fake daggers, so be carefull.
When you post some pictures with the numbers and stamps, im sure people on this forum can help you.

    IF genuine:
    Manufacturer HACO/Berlin = Year of manufacture 1933 - 1935
    Crossguard with group stamp B[erlin]

    For reference:
    SA Dolch - HACO Berlin

It looks to have the `HACO` thinner top cross guard ? Inside of the top and bottom cross guards hidden by the wood handle and only accessible by loosening the top nut are I believe corresponding numbers ?

Around 1928/29, some German emigrants in Argentina formed one of the first NSDAP local groups in South America.
In 1930, they founded a so-called Sportabteilung within the group, a fighting force similar to the Sturmabteilung (SA).
1933 a national group of the NSDAP was officially established in Argentina which was superior to the local group in the party hierarchy

    NSDAP/AO (AuslandsOrganisation)

    Gau Ausland, Amt VII (Iberoamerika)
    Argentinien, Ortsgruppe Buenos Aires:

    Fritz Küster (Buenos Aires): Landesgruppenleiter.
    Richard Zeissig (Buenos Aires: SA-Ortsgruppenleiter
Paul G. Siemsen (Buenos Aires): Stabsleiter des Außenkommisariats.
Eugen Reutter (Santa Fé): Außenhandelsamtsleiter der NSDAP
