    Hi all

    I think it will be the same box as described in TM9-2200 (page 233). If so;

    Box, ammunition, Cal .30, M1 (for 250-round machine gun belt)

    10 3/16 in long
    3 3/4 in wide
    7 7/32in high

    3.5lb empty

    TM 9-2200 Small Arms, Light Field Mortars, and 20-mm Aircraft Guns 1943 : United States. War Department : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

    And from the "Catalog of Standard Ordnance items" (page 438) - "The hinged lids seal tightly but may be completely removed if necessary; hasps permit either box (M1 for .30 and M2 for .50) to be hung on the brackets of .30 caliber and .50 caliber machine gun mounts; the carrying handles fold into the recesses flush with the lids and the boxes may be packed solidly one on top of another".

    Thanks Gary

    That's the standard box, the one in the photos is much taller than 7 7/32in?
