Lincoln Veteran visits brother's Norway grave after 75 years.
Later this month Arthur Harrison, 91, will fulfil a long-held dream by visiting the Trondheim Stavne cemetery where Edward "Ted" Harrison is buried.

The Lincolns did not become "Royal" until 1947

This is an amazing site and the work put in to set it up is unprecedented.

I have an inquiry about one of the photos. My great Uncle was George Steinhauer and I don't know how to approach this correctly but unfortunately the photo on the link is for a photo related to Private Edward Harrison of the Lincolnshire Regiment. I am just hoping the photo may still be on file somewhere that I missed. I was looking to pass the information on to my father and George's brother.

Any information would be exciting from our end. Thank you for the site and photos

    Very interesting Thread.

    Further to:
I came across these excerpts from editions of the Hull Daily Mail of the period:
    upload_2024-4-15_12-17-39.jpeg

    upload_2024-4-15_12-18-12.jpeg

The latter feature mentions Bruce Rose DFC, additional insight below:

Whilst most will be aware of Douglas Bader - and some of another double amputee pilot -
they both operated single seat fighters. Bruce Rose, whilst only (whilst only, indeed, as if!) a single amputee, flew with a fellow crewman, who would probably have been invited to volunteer to do so and that would have been a 'call' for both.
