Interesting collection of photos of Stalingrad in 1947. Columns of German POWs helping tidy the place up, bet their uniforms were a bit tatty by then. Camels pulling wagons. Reconstruction going on but the place is still a mess. http://life.time.com/history/stalingrad-1947-a-world-in-pieces/#1
Thanks for sharing, Owen. canuck: I found these images dated 1967, the fifth image shows a few damaged buildings, perhaps they're part of a monument to remember the war? http://sovietpostcards.org/volgograd-волгоград-1967/
Mcan, the 5th image shows the old mill, which was left like that as a testament to the fighting there. It's still like that today.
Correct, that's the steam mill. See this thread about Pavlov's house. Alex posts more pics of it on there post #4. http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/18037-stalingrad-pavlovs-house/
I was trying to identify the building and see that it has already been done. The original Thread by Alex made interesting viewing. Whenever I read anything about Stalingrad I think of the Memorial in the form of five children forming a circle. I always wonder how it remained basically intact when all around was pretty much destroyed. Regards Tom

The linked thread provides some very useful context as well.
