    Hello to all,
My father, Wilfred Patrick Naylor was a pow in stalag VIIIB from 1940-1944 when he was repatriated. I know he was injured so there might be medical records?
If there is anyone out there who knew him or was aware of him I would love to hear from you.
    Thanks in hopes,
    Sheila Naylor:poppy:

    Welcome to the Forum Sheila.
There may be something in his Service Records or his German POW Record that could be available at the Veterens Agency.
What Rank was he, as the camp itself was for N.C.Os. most of those listed for Stalag V111B (344)were many miles from the Base Camp on one of the work details.

    Hello Sheila,

Do you know what regiment he was in and when he was captured? I suspect he may have been part of the BEF.

    Hello to you,
Dad was in the Coldstream Guards and I believe he was injured then captured around June of 1940 I know there was some mention of the Albert Canal.

    Hi Sheila,

I know Diane (The forums Guards expert) will be keen to help.

Do you know what Battalion he was in? The 1st and 2nd Battalion were in France during 1940.

    Welcome Sheila
If you haven't already applied of copy of your father's service records, please see post 2 in this link.

I've searched the file for missing Coldstream/BEF personnel and can find no reference to him in it, so presumably he was reported POW fairly quickly and not on the Missing list for very long. Unfortunately this means that I cannot help you any further as to general background unless you are able to answer Drew's question referring to battalion.

Do you have any photos or accounts of your father while in the Guards that you'd care to share here?
