Did any of you watch the first part of Space Race on BBC2 tonight?
I enjoyed it, though I'm not expert enough to vouch for its accuracy generally.

But the opening scenes almost put me off. Were V2s ever launched from
lorries? I thought they needed special sites, and being liquid fuelled would need a lot more equipment than was shown. And the lorry was far too modern, looked like a 60's GMC or Mack. And the jeeps were 60's models also. And the convoy of German vehicles fleeing Punemunde all had lights front and back - wouldn't there have been blackout conditions?

Just had to find something to nitpick about!

I thought that von Braun broke his arm before he was captured, recall the photo of him with his arm in plaster ...? It didn't happen last night. I know that it isn't important to the story, but if they didn't bother with that fact, what else didn't they bother with?

They had mobile V-2 launchers. They were called "Meillerwagens." They used them at the sites in Holland.
