Soren, weren't the Canadians still using the Ross rifle in 1915 during 2nd Ypres? I don't think the used the Mk III Lee Enfield until after that, although some picked up the odd one for the British casualties. See this pic. Canadian Military Heritage
I concur, and I think the webbing would have been the old leather I'm not sure, I know some had the old Leather equipment but this says different. Therefor all the Canadian Infantry Battalions were equipped with WE08 when they arrived in France in February 1915.
