Sister died WW1, Brother died WW2.

    Deacs Well i am from Cumbria.

    After just posting in Tonym's thread regarding a Ellie Porter who was sadly killed in the Women's land army WW1 and buried in St.Catherine's churchyard,Eskdale.Cumbria. I was also researching a memorial to a WW2 casualty and found that they were sister and brother.

    Mike,
    Ellie Porter was sadly killed in a accident at Henhull farm at Nantwich in Cheshire. The Chester Chronicle ran the story on February 9th 1918.

    As the sister died while serving in one of the civilian services (WLA) in WW1 she is not commemorated by the CWGC.
