In researching our family tree I am looking for information re Tony Makepeace.
He was born in 1922 in the Bedford area.

I have found a record of him being in a POW camp, Stalag XXB in Poland.

From family members and reserch sites I know he married and divorced after the war and I believe has two children.

I am just hoping that someone may have known him during his time in the Royal Signals, or even before or after. In fact, any information is greatly appreciated!

    Fingers crossed!

    Welcome to the Forum.

Hope you don't mind the correction:- Sgm. A Makepeace.
With the Rank of Signalman he would have probably have been in one of the Work Camps attached to Stalag XXB

Thank you for yopur kind welcomes.

ADM199, no, of course I don't mind the correction. Anything that might help my search! I am afraid I am completely cluless re ranks etc and only had the record I found on ancestry.co.uk to go by. That also gives both his army no and pow nos.

    Hi Pippac and welcome,

If you really want to do some digging (I am happy to help relatives of my old regiment), may I suggest you apply for his service records-Sadly they will cost you £30 but they will tell you what units he served with within the Signals which will then enable you to see where he was and what his unit was doing.

    Regards
    Andy
