Blatant steal from another forum ;)
Astonishing film of a Projectile leaving the barrel of something modern, how the hell they manage to track anything moving at that speed I really don't know.

Who ever took that deserves an award.
It is the panning to the left so fast that amazes me.
Get them to do the F1 coverage we might see what's going on then!

A mate just sent me some more High Speed photographs from I know not where, I find the ballistic gel (?) in the final shot chilling.:

Reminded me of some years back when over several days I had a crew helping recover some M 5 tank parts for use by the Admiral Nimitz Center museum in Fredricksburg TX. The parts were on one of the tank table ranges on Ft. Huachucha AZ in Garden Canyon. While doing this the local armored reserve unit, the 8/40th Armored Battalion was out firing nearly over our heads. Nothing like orange glowing globs of 105mm AP rounds flying about.....

Its an abrams is it or something with a smoothbore gun, the front of the sheel is stationary but the rear portion spins with vanes.

Shells do create water vapour. I saw an anti-tank solid shot hit the sloping side of an enemy tank, then flew straight up in the air, The heat made it make a sizzling sound, and as it flew high into the sky, it created a spiralling vapour trail. A series of spiralling circles accompanied with the Hissing sizzling sound.

Yeah, I have also liked slow motion shots of projectiles colliding with objects. I think on Youtube there is a whole series of them.
