    Yo,

Not really pertinent to this thread which is mostly American zone based. We have looked at it before, see here:

    Hi,

Don't know a lot about the American Reclamation program but that is what the pics are related to. Find that area on Google Maps and you may find the house.

    Yo,

Nice aerial of power line and tents in this Fenelon article.

Trouble finding that reclamation site due to unfamiliarity with American zones.

Do you know if the road sign was preserved and have you seen other photos of this one?

    Hi Everyone,

The small house in the background of this one is most likely: Google Maps

The Horsa can be seen in the Travis Aerial on the left next to the Waco, sadly the houses are out of shot: AIR PICTURES OVER RHINE BATTLE AREA | Imperial War Museums (iwm.org.uk)
The fence line / hedge line in front of the 2 with one having an x across it is very prominent in both pictures.
This is also the location for some of the jeep lane footage, and it is worth noting there are objects possibly jeeps in the bottom right of the aerial on that lane.
The wing in the air / crashed glider is also very distinctive.

Regarding the first aerial I am now more sure than yesterday that the location is north of Hammilklin near the windmill, the house is gone (replaced with more modern ones), but the location matches very well to the aerials field boundaries and glider locations.

    Best Regards,
    SH

    Hi,

The American reclamation photos were taken on April 1st at more than one site both on the ground and from the air. Another one is discussed here at a German site:

Wesel - Operation Varsity - Lastensegler am Huwenweg und Bruchweg

My bet puts the three Horsas to the south in an American zone, but who knows?

this is at Ortmansfeld street facing north.
And in the horizon on the right there is the tower again of thulenweg.
This is the same area where the troopers passing the gliders are filmed.

    hello Folks,

i have made some pictures of the Fuhrmanns farm yard and it looks there was a small track commng from the field onto the farm yard.
maybe this was the reason they move the Nita Glider so that all jeeps could pas onto the farm yard to go to the road.
ingnore this reply, i cant get it deleted before posting.

    Joop,

Really interesting. Looks like changes are in order but my PC died and might not be able to do it for awhile. May not hear as much from me as a result. Keep digging though.

    I will mate !!
today I did my first tour as a guide in the British sector, thanks to you all I could gave a good explanation how the operation Varsity went on on the 24/25 03 1945 . I told about The 3rd and 5th parachute brigade and the 6 airlanding brigade in the 6th airborne division sector.
I showed 20 people around and by the end they were all amazing about the large operation in one day.
