    My mum has informed me that my uncle was not on his usual plane that day but was only there as the crew were a man short

    Yes, his name is the last on the list which would suggest he was the rear gunner.

    I know it's a bit cheeky but would anyone be able to check my great uncles war record on war record site for ww2 he was srgt john darrah love 70 squadron rafvr I don't have access to this site so was hoping maybe someone here could do it for me.... thanks in advance
