Hopefully this thread is still a going concern...

I've found these two graves in my local area. Catherine Gibbons died from a sudden illness at a military hospital near Wolverhampton. Rhoda Ashcroft was an NFS messenger who was seriously injured in a road accident when responding to a fire, and died soon after. She is buried at St Paul's Churchyard in Skelmersdale.

Thank you particularly for Rhoda Ashcroft who, like many other Civilian ladies killed on official duty, get missed.

No problem Tony. I've also got this, wasn't sure if it would be of interest but may as well post it anyway...

    QUINE, ANNIE
    Rank: Civilian
Date of Death: Between 03/09/1939 and 04/09/1939
    Age: 57
    Regiment/Service: Civilian War Dead
    Reporting Authority: S.S. ATHENIA
Additional Information: Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. Rimmer; wife of Thomas E. Quine, of 206 W. Wilshire Avenue, Fullerton, California, U.S.A.

The grave is at St Cuthbert's in Halsall, but I expect she would have been lost at sea so I doubt she's actually buried there.

Also some local newspaper reports on all three, to give them a bit of background.
