For some reason and I dont know why
He was at ringway on 30th April to mid may 1944 on course 114 and then sent to holding unit before deploying to d-day.
    But he'd already a qualified parachuteist in dec 41. ? 20191114_180741.jpg

As you can see or you will when you get the rest my dads army career was very colourful.
His body was covered in shrapnel wounds
    That I can remember
His first was france / Dunkirk at 20yrs of age
I would be very interested as to where he got all the rest of his wounds
As he was always on Y list.
Hope you get to see all his records very soon
I thank you all for your involvement
    Feeling very humble and emotional
    Regards dave .

He qualified as a parachutist in 41 with the 2nd Paras, but was with the 12th Paras in 44. Likely the training was to help intregrate him into his new unit, but i'd also bet that the Paras equipment, training & tactics had probably also developed & been modified a long way from what they were in 41.

P.S. Have modified the service record images you sent me, and tried to put them in some semblance of order, and mailed them back to you. They are all less than 200kb so you should have no problem posting them up on the forum etc. Any problems let me know.

    Cheers
