    Listening to him on Desert Island Disks this morning he mentioned his grandfather, a Great War veteran who died as a Telegraph War Correspondant on Remagen Bridge in 1945. It rang some bells, and in fact I realised I came across his grave some years ago in Hotton War Cemetery. His details:
