    Hello,
At last a website that has members like myself looking for information on WW2. How super!! I have spent some time since joining reading thro the posts and have learnt so much.
I have had my fathers service record for a number of years and am now making a determined effort to find out about his journey first with 1st bat the Royal Sussex/4th Indians then with the Sudan Defence Force, onto R.A.S.C. and finally I.S.L.D. (serving in Greece, Italy and the Balkans) before returning home in 1945 and finishing at the Foreign Office before being demobolized in Feb 1946.
There are photos which I am trying to identify.
My father was Basil Blake S/6403631. I have used his photo as Avatar hoping maybe someone will recognise him.

Welcome. There are many of us in common researching our dads. Are you aware there are war diaries that will give you his locations at the Royal Archives¿

Now if I can only figure out how my question mark got turned upside down

    Welcome to the forum.
If not deemed too personal please post photos/service docs in another thread(http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/people-ww2/) and I am sure forum members will attempt to add more information.

    Red Ling,

Clive is correct in stating that the more information you can present to the forum members, the more you are likely to receive information from the wealth of knowledge that the forum members possess.

I wish you well with your research.

    Regards
    Tom

    Heather,
The RASC tracer cards were recently moved to the Museum from the records office, the lineal decendant Corps of the RASC is the Royal Logistics Corps. ISLD was one of the psuedynoms used by MI6/SIS during WWII.

    regards and welcome
