    Thanks for finding this, I've messaged stemereshop to see if he can provide any information, although he hasn't been active on here for a few years. Still awaiting service records in the meantime!

    Here's my dad with his battleaxe's on sliders ! he also is wearing Africa star ribbon, the number one on the ribbon is the clasp for 1st army.

    Hi,
    Good luck with your research......... found the following on ancestry which is for a Thomas Alfred Preston which mentions the RW Kents.... is this your dad? ..... I'm very much a learner on here, others more knowledgable than me may explain what the record is about...... my take is it looks like an enlistment register for the Queens Royal Regiment (West Surrey) which shows TA Preston transferred out of this Reg't to the RW Kents on 02.10.1940 (along with around 20 or so other men). ITC is likely Infantry Training Centre.
