Hello all, I have collected a large portion of Canadian and British war diaries. In order to understand them I have collected the relevan GSGS maps in scale 1:25.000, 1:100.000 and 1:250.000. But now I find that I also need the 1:50.000 scale maps I have been looking and was able to find them on payed websites but the price they ask for a may is over the top. I'm looking for the following: GSGS 4040 20 (Ostende) 21/31 (Zeebrugge/Bruges) -> Allready Found 22/32 (Terneuzen/Ghent) -> Allready Found 23/33 (Kieldrecht/Antwerpen) 24/34 (Brecht/Lierre) 30 (Dixmuide) GSGS 4083 47 (Cadzand) 48 (Middelburg) 49 (Bergen op Zoom) 50 (Breda) 42 (Zierikzee) 43 (Willemstad) 44 (Geertruidenberg) Whatever help you guys can offer is more than welcome. Kind regards, Remi
One of the best websites in Canada for WW2 maps (that are all free) is McMaster University website. They also have a huge holding of WW! Trench maps etc etc. Like below World War II (1939-1945) Good luck
Hello Remi, Links to some of the GSGS 4040 can be found here: New Resource - Topographic Maps Haven't found any free GSGS 4083. Richard
Have you tried this: Holland East 1:25k Topographic Maps (it's eastern Holland though) I found this timetravel map of Holland also of assistance, though no GSGC maps: Topotijdreis: 200 jaar topografische kaarten
Richard Lewis: Thanks for the link I wasn't aware of that one found all except for the Antwerp Map. Temujin Thanks for that link I was allready aware of this source. Did find two maps which where previously not available tought. So thanks for that one. stolpi Thanks for the links. I was aware of both sources. Remi
From former requests i can tell that these maps are hard to find. For sale yes, but for free, hmmmm Again i did a search this evening.......no results for now. But have also a look at the archieven.nl, lots of information about this area and some specific maps.
Richard, your link is rather good. I must doff my cap to you for the work that you have done. Stupid question this is- how the hell do I download any map? Sorry if I'm coming across has being a ( complete muppet?) I did try. Stuart being frustrated. Thanks.
Hello Stuart, Maps with a green link should be downloadable, red links can’t be downloaded. Depending on the site the link may download the map or take you to a page where you have to click on a button to download. The means to download is not always obvious, so not a stupid question, and may give you various options such as file type (jpg tif) or high/low resolution. Which map or site are you trying to download from? Richard
