Hi All, Im trying to find a records of my Grandads military service and drawing a complete blank. His name is William Bentley MacMillan Malcolm He was in the Royal Artillery and enlisted in the early days of the WW2 When he joined up he was based in the north east around Bishop Aukland / Darlington And that is all I know. Ive searched the Ancestry.com records and found nothing. Does anyone have any ideas. Many thanks
Hi, Welcome to the forum. You won’t find any UK WW2 service records in Ancestry as they aren’t in the public domain. You need to apply to UK MOD via this link - Requests for personal data and service records: a detailed guide MOD will search on full name and DOB - no service number required. Good Luck Steve
Here's some bits to be going on with.... follow Steve's sound advice above, the sooner you apply, the sooner you get the chance of finding out what's what.
