School Project on John Pratley

    Any info on John Leslie Pratley? Please help.
    His regiment number was M.15502
    His unit was in the Edmonton Regiment
    He was 18 when he joined the army.
    He enlisted on September 1, 1939.
    He was born June 7, 1921.
    He is buried in Agira, Sicily.

    Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Given the date of his death, 9th August 1943, was right at the tail end of the campaign for the Canadian 2nd Infantry Brigade, Lt Pratley might have been wounded previously and succumbed from them later - pure speculation this. The war diaries might show further detail.

    Have a read of the official history which gives a top down on what the Edmontons were up to in the first few days of August.
