    The six pages in Les Freathy's book are the best that I have.

    They're wonderful though, aren't they ?

    One of the most handsome vehicles of the war, and decades after.
    There's a Pioneer in civvy livery we sometimes spot around here. Never sure if it's working or just doing shows, but like to think it's still recovering things.

    They were not quite so good looking early-on, in my opinion. This is a civvy one used by the big constructor Gee, Walker & Slater but it is a wartime photograph.

    There is a war time cartoon - I think by Emmett - of two little old ladies in an Austin 7 confronted in a narrow country lane by a huge Scammel and the passenger is saying to the driver "don't worry dear it's our right of way"
