    Hello All.
Here are the photos sapper couldn't upload.
Hope I haven't made them too small.
If you want the full sized ones I'm sure sapper won't mind I'll email them to you.

I'm sorry I doubted you Sapper, but it just seemed a little akward to me because I don't know anyone over the age of 75 who actually knows how to work with computers. Yet again, I appologize.

    Sapper,
I believe Lionel Roebuck still uses his computer (sadly only for his memoires, but it would be interesting to get him online). I know i rebuilt it for him (hopefully no more viruses your way).

Glad to see you're back again Sapper. I've just caught up again with the Forum as I was a little bit miffed by the drubbing you got from certain quarters (though I think your teddy bear should have stayed in the pram!!) We can only marvel at your experiences and thankfully through them will not have to endure what you did. As for being 'puter literate at 81, I have an old friend of 84 going on 85 still using his 'puter. Strangely, "Burma Jack" Welsh is an ex-sapper too from the mech. equip. companies.

Lionel Roebuck. East Yorks Regiment Third British Infantry Division. Monty's Iron division..Same Eighth Brigade as myself. For when is all said and done, it is the PBI that take on the enemy. Not for them the fame and headlines of the airborne, or special forces...It is the PBI that wins wars. It is the PBI that has to go into battle in the teeth of a drenching barrage of fire.

Day after day until the war is won. I have great admiration for the East Yorks. The South Lancs and the Suffolks, all of the renowned Eighth Brigade. Bless them.

Sites like this should keep a sense of humour alongside the interest in things long past.

Here's the Divisional sign of 3rd (British) Division.

A link to a webpage that explains what unit served in what Division and what their markings on their vehicles were.Scroll down the page to see each divisional badge and which Infantry Battalions were in each division.

These would be the British units in North-West Europe 44-45.
