hello everyone, I am looking for information on sapper Robert gibb. he was born in Coatbridge Scotland. his theatre of war was Italy....his regiment was royal engineers at time of death, he died 9 oct 1944.....maybe buried Italy....I have this number but don't know what it means 2149346............any information will be greatly appreciated.........many kind regards from heather
2149346 is his Army Number. Every soldier had one . That number fits into the block allocated to the Royal Engineers . It would have been given to him when he enlisted into them.
