Dani, it isn't Kitty who wants to close the thread. It was ME who suggested it. I just thought that we'd said everything that needed to be said and now we were getting quite political. I definately include myself in that category.
We don't want to stop the thread, but it has started to go around in circles and covering old ground Dani. If you have a new view point then put it to everyone. I removed the pic at Kyt's request. Everyone had seen it, and to be honest it wasn't one I wanted to see hanging around the place. Freedom of speech and calm discussion are very welcoem here, however we have had instances of flamewars. most notably cold war threads. We're just trying to get in there before this thread can go the same way, but thankfully it has turned itself. So please give us your new view of the execution Dani.
I dont exactly have new points of view ,but you could read from my last post that i balive the execution wasn't done right. I made my points there i wont repeat myself so i want to add something. I balive you all know how execution must be done ,the prisoner who is going to die write on a papper who want to come and see him in his last minutes, the people who are on the place of the execution are the prison boss,nurse, bunch of guards,and the persons who the prisoner write on the papper. Sadam execution was done on public place a lot of Iraqis humiliate Sadam during the execution, and after the execution Bush write a message how delighted he was that Sadam is dead.The execution wasn't nessesery, as you could all see now there are new terrorist organisations who are called the "Sadam brigade" etc. we have just put more oil in the fire with this execution and now we will trow the rest of the oil when "we" execute the two of Sadam's brothers. I have said "we" because we are a civilians who live in coutrys (USA,England,Bulgaria etc.) who are allied in this "anti terrorist war".
I think the death sentence was more than justified, but per what I saw it was not carried out in the proper manner. That singing and dancing was completely undignified, and the indignity rests on the heads of those who performed it.
I agree, he deserved to die but the hanging should have been carried out with more decorum. I know the full video is out there but I don't want to see it thank you.
The powers to be in Iraq have shown bad judgement by their inability to control this very "public" hanging. By denying Saddam dignity in death, they have forecast to his followers that the vengeful division between parties is alive and well. The torment of the Iraqi people will continue unabated.
