Reading a book on the Tirpitz I understand the Russians in late 44 advanced from the Murmansk, Archangel area into Northern Norway, and the book mentioned thousands of refugees pouring into tromso. I have never heard how far they got, nor have I heard of the Norwegans complaining of russian occupation in the far north of their country. any one know about the war in this part of the world?

A very useful paper on a particularly obscure corner of the war, Owen. Thanks.

Thanks for that, one hell of a good read with good descriptions of the terrain.
