My father is writing his life story, he has a great recollection of his time from 1939 to 1944 with the Black Watch. He is now in 1945. He was moved to the Royal Scots Fusiliers in 1945, he seems to recall it was the 2nd Battalion.. He cannot remember the town names he was in from November 1945 to June 1946 when he was demobbed. He remember the other soldiers and activities and what they were doing, he just is stuck on the place names. Can anyone help me? Or point me in the right direction.

In Nov 45, 2 RSF were in Germany, at a place called Hardegsen (part of 17 Inf Bde of 5 Inf Div). This was in the Northeim/Gottingen area.

They joined 52 Inf Div in Feb 46, and moved to Truppenubungsplatz at Senne, nr Paderborn. They were guarding an internment camp.

In Apr 46, 2 RSF moved to Minden, staying there until Jun 46, and then moving to Monchengladbach. Lots of moves!

    Hope this helps your dad.........
