    Hi

An old thread, I know, but would anyone have any details of what befell

    Sapper 14802766 Leslie COTTON
24th Bomb Disposal Company, Royal Engineers
Died in Holland on Monday 30 April 1945

Hes buried in Almelo General Cemetery in Grave 12.

He was most probably killed along with George Wareing in Grave 10, John McWhinnie in Grave 11 and John Harris in Grave 13.

Would anyone have a headstone photo by any chance ??

    Many thanks,

    Graeme

Hello graeme, im a relative of Sapper Leslie Cotton 14802766 Bomb Disposal Coy, Royal Engineers, who is buried in grave 12 at Almelo General Cemetery. I have done quite a bit of research into his life and of those who lie beside him. Most of my knowledge of him has come from talking to my Gramdma, who was delighted to know where he was lay to rest. I know your last post was in 2013 but I hope you see this so we can share information. I was just Googling for information on my relative and came across this site and saw your posts. Hope to hear from you.

    Many Thanks from Chris.

    Hi Chris

Many thanks for replying to the thread and welcome to the Forum.

Leslie (as you probably know residing in Great Wyrley) is on the Walsall RoH and also on the war memorial outside Shelfield Methodist Church and on scrolls in St. Mark’s Church, Green Lane, Shelfield and St. John’s Church, Walsall Wood.

I have pictures of these I can forward to you by e-mail.

Not sure if you can PM me an e-mail address so I'll send mine to you.

Do you know the circumstances of his death ??

    Regards,

    Graeme
