On the 20<SUP>th</SUP> September 1944, just a few days before he was due to go on leave, James was with his Company in Emberton, Bedford. They were in the process of rendering an enemy mine harmless when, at 13.20; it exploded killing eight men and injuring a further five.<o:p></o:p>

Sapper T. Bradshaw, Sapper J.A. Brady, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Sapper</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">J.W.</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Bridges</st1:PlaceType>, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Corporal</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">E.F.</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Brooks</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>, Sapper N. Jolley, Sapper A.E. Martin and Lance Sergeant A.V. Maskell also died at this incident.<o:p></o:p>

I dont know if you have heard of a book called Bomb disposal and the British Casualties of WW2 by Chris Ransted, but it contains a Roll of honour that while not complete could possibly complete your list.

Think he may already be on the list. Tragically killed by one of our own mines, along with a Sapper Hurley and Lt Gaylor (pictured below), at Rattray Head in Scotland.
