You would make my wife's day if you could come up with a picture of her relation (Frank) James Francis Navin of the 1st Parachute Squadron B Troop.

Philip, do you have a better quality copy of the picture on John's book? Also I thought the pic was of No.3 Ptn of the 9th (Airborne) Fld Coy? I guess Frank transferred to the 1st after the pic was taken

    All the best fellas...........:)

Can anyone help me with the full title and author of Engineers at the Bridge.
Or does anyone have a spare copy they might part with?

You may find this interesting. But Sappers were transferred to the Airborne "in the field"

IT went like thiis..."Anyone interested in joining the airborne?" Those that stepped forward were transferred on the spot.....

Yes he was a good friend at the time.We had a little parade in a field and asked Who wants to join? This mate of mine stepped forward. Nice bloke, A Scot, and oddly enough... A pipe smoking Scot, I cannot recall his name after all this time.
But if he is still about he would recognise this.
