I hope I have placed this request in the right section. I have been reading the Normandy section of the war diary of the 249 (Airborne) Field Company RE and it mentions training with Hoddy Rafts. I did a goolgle search and the only other reference I could find about Hoddy Rafts was from 4 Parachute Squadron RE war diary while training in England. What is a Hoddy Raft and what were they used for? Does anyone have any photos or drawings of these? Any information would be most welcomed. Thanks Clive
