Hi,I'm a researcher for the Biggin Hill Memorial Museum and have just come this request. I have all the details of all the casualties from the Biggin Hill raid of 30th August 1940. The raid took place on the morning of Friday, 30th August at 08.15

8 high explosive bombs were dropped on the airfield which resulted in 39 deaths (27 military and 12 civilian) and 27 wounded (24 military and 3 civilian). There was also one army private who was missing and is also presumed to have been killed. Also, killed in the raid was a NAAFI employee, only identified as Trixie. She was killed by machine gun fire.

The only Royal Engineer listed as having been killed is Sapper John Ketteridge, service number 1989416. He is buried at St Mary Cray Cemetery, Star Lane, Orpington. Plot E, Div 3, Grave 133. There were also two engineers injured in the raid. Private G Johnston, service no 19425255. Private/Driver D Thompson, service no 1876445.

File reference AIR 81/2944 held at The National Archives at Kew, contains the full list of casualties from this attack.
