My father served with the Royal Artillery 61/14 Anti-Tank Regiment as Gunner in France during the period of Sept 1st, 1939 to 24th May 1940. Can anyone please tell me anything of his time there, where was the regiment, what did they do, where they involved in any battles etc etc. I would appreciate any help given

    Thanks, Roy

Give me a few days to sort some stuff out for you - I'm assuming you mean 61 Battery, 14 Anti-Tank Regiment?

    hi drew
I have re-checked his papers and all I see is 61/14 Anti-Tank Regiment. On one occasion it is actually written 61st/14th. I'm sorry, but you have a complete novice here, hope you can help.

There is no diary after the end of Feb for the battery so it will be the regimental diary after this date. More to come later....

Out of curiosity was your Father a Officer or a NCO by any chance? Just something I've seen in the regimental diary that may fit in with the 24th May.

    Hello Drew5233
Firstly, apologies for not replying to your post Feb 8, 2014. I was admitted to hospital and out of commission for a number of years.

I don't know if this topic is still open but reply in case; as far as I know my father only achieved the rank of acting bombardier
