Blimey - did he really hit the beach dressed like that!!?

 

I would be reasonably certain that the binoculars in his hands are German , possibly a pre war buy.

 

Nice photo. Maybe being dressed like that is the reason the Germans never shot at him. A brave man indeed.

I always feel a little bit annoyed when I think of his assistant back in London who ruined most of his photos by applying too much heat because he was too anxious to develop them. Some possibly amazing pictures of D-Day that no one will ever get to see.
