Hampshire Libraries are hosting an event including talks at the Prince Consort's Library and Aldershot Military Library on Saturday 3rd March 2012 commencing at 11.30 am.

Professor Gary Sheffield, "a fellow military historian and friend of Richard Holmes" will give a talk on " The British Soldier in the Second World War".

Cost of the event is £6.50 to include a buffet lunch at 12 o'clock, tea & coffee at 1.45 pm, and afternoon tea & cake at 3.30 pm.

There are brief details at Hampshire Libraries website at Library Events and details of booking by telephone. The flyer says: " Places are limited - Advance Booking Essential" and that disabled access is "extremely difficult" because the Prince Consort's Library is a Victorian building with lots of steps and stairs.

Prince Consort's Library is at Knollys Road, Aldershot, with free parking on site.

Aldershot Library is at 109, High Street, Aldershot where pay and display car parking at 50 pence an hour is close.

( I have no connection with the library other than being a member. The Military Collection is well worth a visit.)
