Welcome, wingturner! The information you've been given is pretty consistent. As a starter, 65th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery (65 Fd Regt RA) served with 56th (London) Division 23/04/43-31/08/45. They would almost certainly have been armed with the 'classic' 25 pdr field gun.
