    Nice one.

    What about running a daily thread about the servicemen featured where we flag up what we know about them when/where they died?
    Great idea! The 8th was a Home Guard Battalion. 8th Battalion (Dursley) - HQ Dursley Court.

    "B" Company - Minchinhampton
    "C" Company - Nailsworth
    "D" Company - Dursley
    "E" Company - Stonehouse
    "F" Company - Berkeley
    "G" Company - Sharpness

    Son of Alexander and Hannah Jones; husband of Ethel Martha Freda Jones, of Kinver, Staffordshire. Buried at the time in Bristol (Ridgeway) Cemetery, but whose grave is now lost.
    INSCRIPTION: BURIED IN BRISTOL (RIDGEWAY PARK) CEMETERY SECTION A. GRAVE 3050 SWEET IS THE MEMORY, THAT WILL NEVER FADE, OF ONE WE LOVED BUT COULD NOT SAVE

    Split this off from the thread announcing the 'remembering today' box.
    Hopefully it'll be interesting seeing people practicing their 'casualty-hunting' skills in a small act of remembrance for these randomly selected fallen.
    And maybe it'll add a few more useful details to the Internet story of WW2 losses.
