Fusilier Timmins died, when the Skins advanced as part of 38 (Irish) Brigade within the British 78th Infatry Division, and supported by a squadron of tanks from the Canadian Three Rivers Regiment (12 CAR), to take over the San Giacomo ridge north of Termoli, in an attack that started at 11am on 6th October 1943.
