    CLI -
Both 1st and 5th Canadian Divisions were just crossing the Foglia River which was known as the main Gothic Line - which was not too well prepared and so we had little trouble in crossing the River at around Montelabatte but unfortuately some were kiled and this chap amongst them. Gradara was finished first as a cemetery otherwise he would have been buried eventually at Montecchio.
