    25-26 October 1940

    61 Squadron
    Hampden I X2971 QR-B
    Op. Kiel

    Took off from Hemswell and lost without trace.

    Source - RAF Bomber Command Losses Vol.1 - W R. Chorley.

    During the course of 1940, RAF Bomber Command visited Kiel on 30 occasions. 242 airctaft attacked the target (Naval, Industry, Transport, Oil) 243 tons of HE along with 9 tons of Incendiaries were dropped.
