    The grave of 419752 Flying Officer (FO) Peter Douglas Allan, a member of No. 450 (Kittyhawk) Squadron RAAF, attached to RAF Middle East forces. FO Allan was killed in air operations on April 19, 1945 near Imola, Italy.The cross is the original grave marker.

    Besides the photo provided by Pieter (http://www.awm.gov.au/collection/MEA2265/) another shot of the grave being tended by a friend of Peter's is held in the AWM collection - http://www.awm.gov.au/collection/MEA2266/

    Italy. c. 1945. Flying Officer George Flemming, pilot of No. 3 (Mustang) Squadron RAAF, attending the grave of his friend, 419752 Flying Officer P. D. Allan, a member of No. 450 (Kittyhawk) Squadron RAAF, who was killed in an air operation on 19 April 1945.


    The casualty report on the loss of Flying Officer Allan held by the NAA has been digitised - details of the loss are attached.
