    Thomas Ogden was killed when the SS Ghyll struck a mine in the Thames Estuary on the 18th October 1941. Six other crew men were also lost.

    It's a bit odd that he ended up in Abbeville. That's some way inland and certainly a considerable distance from where he died. If I'm not mistaken the current in the Channel runs from Left to Right as you look at it on a map because BEF soldiers killed off Dunkirk were washed ashore on the Belgian and Dutch coast.
