6th Battalion Royal Norfolks arrived Singapore 13 Jan 42 and almost immediately were sent into Malaya.
The 18 Div Pilot Roll (WO 361-2177) shows Pte Haylett as 'Missing'. There is a file WO 361-2192 British Military Personnel missing at the Fall of Singapore M-Z, unfortunately it's equivalent for A-N does not seem to exist. I have queried this some time ago with TNA and they told me it was never given to them. WO 361-328 Malaya - 6th Battalion Royal Norfolks- missing personnel, may have more information on Pte Haylett but I do not have a copy.
