We are all familiar with WW2 personnel judicially executed who are listed on the Brookwood memorial but I thought you mind find it interesting that I have discovered another instance : Gordon Dowdall and Frank Sass on the Ramleh memorial. I believe there to be at least one more such execution commemorated here
I have not yet ascertained if William Coghlin and B Ortell who died the same day in the same unit were also executed . Nor have I yet found evidence of why they were executed
The Palestine Gazette indicates that Ortell was tried alongside Dowdall and Sass, and three others: J. Abrahams, J. Samuels, and T. Stevens, in the Court of Criminal Assize, Haifa - Case No. 56/43.
