Is there anyone living close to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery or going there soon? If so, it would be great if you could get me a few headstone photograps from there.
Not sure whether you got Sjt Alfred Leonard Doughty. Scroll down this post and you will find him and how he died, along with Gunner John Gibson Ross. Served in the same Battery as my Dad. I'll be paying my respects next year close to the 70th Anniversary of their death http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/42605-102-laa-light-anti-aircraft-regiment-royal-artillery-336-337-338-batteries/#entry507976

Morning Absolutely brilliant if you can, please. The men are mostly from the Walsall and district and a few of them are on the West Midlands Police WW2 RoH. Many thanks, really appreciate it, Regards, Graeme
Graeme: Took the photos. But I encountered a problem: The grave indication of John Thomas SEDGWICK Grave 56.D.18 is not correct. The headstone under this number carries another name. I've checked with the index at the Cemetery, but it also says that Sedgewick is laid to rest under Grave no. 56.D.18, which is incorrect. Unfortunately, after I took the above photos what started as a small drizzle quickly turned into a real downpour ... ... which lasted for nearly half an hour. It finally got dry, whereafter I took the rest of the pictures:
Hi Absolutely brilliant, cannot thank you enough for your photos. Will have to contact CWGC about the error. Am on holiday at moment and cannot download the photos. Can I ask you to keep them just in case I encounter problems later. Once again, cannot thank you enough for taking the time and trouble to take the photos for me, most generous!! Graeme
Stolpi, I have found that the Sedgwick grave is actually 10 graves to the left at 56. G. 8. It seems that the CWGC have goofed up again when transfering details from paper to digital. I take it the name you saw at grave 18 was Genge? The CWGC have 2 names listed in plot 56 G 18 but they havent got one at 56 G 8, so if Genge is at 18, Sedgwick will be at 8
Yes, it was Genge on 18. Graeme - I will have a look at 56 G 8. I will be in the area again in two weeks.
Hi Managed to find a computer !!. many thanks once again, if we can confirm I will notify CWGC when I get home. Once again, I cannot download the pics so would be grateful if you could keep them until I managed to get them. Thanks again for all you are doing, apprecitae it, Regards, Graeme
