I'm researching my late father in law's record. On his return from Burma in 1945 I know, from his talking to me & also from family members, he spent some time in a rehabilitation centre, although no mention was mentioned of where. His record final entry, in July 1946, is for No1 Holding Company RA & his testimonial is by the OC of E Hy AA Bty RA at Packington Park Camp. Searching the internet the only references I can find for Packington are as a US rehabilitation centre. Has anyone come across anything about this camp?
The Rehabilitation Program European Theater of Operations APO # 871 | WW2 US Medical Research Centre It would appear that the US requirement left there iat the end of 1944 and moved to France, I guess that would have left the camp open for use by others. Maybe contact the estate and see if they have any further info - Packington Estate or at least they may have other contact numbers TD
Thanks, yes that is all I can find, which I find strange as there must have been thousands go through after the US left.
