Are there any Uniform experts out there who may be able to help me with a query regarding uniform. I would like to know what my Late Father's head gear would be when he was in the 4th Reconnaissance Corps Regimental Police. Would it have been the standard Black Beret with Recce Badge or would they wear a flat cap with a red cover similar to the Royal Military Police. Also webbing colour white? or normal Med colour. I have had no luck tracing any photographs. I am looking at 1945 in Greece / Italy. Regards Tom
Regimental Police were just that in my time, no authority outside the battalion. they wore a brassard with RP in red. They had no affiliation to the RMP and answered in our case to the Sergeant Major.
Wills, Thanks for the information. I was thinking that they might just wear the brassard arm band with only being Regimental. Regards Tom
