    Waterloo Road?
YES! Von T, you are an absloute star! If i wasn't already promised to the Big Bad Scottish Mod I'd give you a big sloppy kiss! And if I weren't so worried about Cold War 2 I'd actually get some sleep tonight.
Now, anyone want to draw out these graphs for me?

You actually draw graphs? Most normal people enter the data into Excel when they collect it. This makes it easier to collate and any type of graph is created for you in a fraction of the time it takes to 'draw' them.

Ah Excel, i love Excel! Unfortunately my lecturer and Uni markers do not. All graphs must be handdrawn and data hand written for field work notebooks. The excuse is, and i quote "Only data that can be entered into a notebook in the field may be used".
I consider this to be an infringement of my human rights, but it was explained to me when i started Uni that students do not have rights. So there we go.
I am only thankful that I am not studying English, they have to hand write all of their essays.
And don't think i missed the "most normal people" comment either Cute One. I shall have my revenge there, even though it is so true.
    So back to films...

Ah Venerable Master, humble Grasshopper no like famous invention of subtitles for very good reason she miss action whilst trying to keep up with dialogue. Therefore Grrrrrrr is only viable response. So sorry if Grasshopper offends Venerable Master, but famous invention of subtitles is pain in the butt. I miss good bits always and have to rewind DVD.
    :ninja:

You are a hot ticket! Now I've had my good laugh for today.

  5. Just watched "Come and see" a Russian film from the late 80's about a young lad who joins the partisans in Belaruss in 43. Very thought provoking and hard hitting. Not what you would expect from a Russian movie from the late Communist era. No jingoism no propoganda, just a very well made film showing the brutal side of warfare as seen by a young boy. To see him age though the horrors of what he witnesses is very sad.
One of the best I have seen, and that is saying something. Highly recommended.

Ahaaaa! I asked about it earlier in this thread. Did you get a Region 2 copy of it?(or have you multi-region?....or Video..) I've been looking for a while but can't find in the right format...(please don't tell me it was on telly and I missed it.)
    Cheers,
    Adam.

And for those of us who can't speak German and don't want to miss the action we have to watch in English. Grrrrrr.
I know they aren't completely accurate, but what about Longest Day and Dambusters? Come on, they were fantastic! Much better than Private Chuffin Ryan or Band of Brothers.
And what's that one with John Mills going AWOL to get back home to his missus cos he thinks she may be about to cheat on him? It was on Ch4 the other week. Oh Lord, that's going to annoy me now. Great for Life back home.
I'll have to think now. That's a shame, was hoping to get through this weekend without engaging the old grey matter.

THe longest day is ok, but i cant handle the silly gun shot sound effects and the even sillier play at being shot, plus its a bit squashed up.

Dambusters is great, seen it a billion times.

What about "Cross of Iron" Sam Peckinaph's movie about German troops in the Crimea is always worth a look, I feel. I would also recommend "Downfall" and possibly "Tora Tora Tora". Beats that idiotic "Pearl Harbour" hands down!!

Along the same lines although not a "true" story, I can pick up "Von Ryans Express" and watch it anytime. Maybe not a billion - but close.

Maybe, except for Sinatra not making it, it was a good news story.

Sinatra didn't make it? Cheers mate, saves me the effort of watching the film all the way through. I've only ever made it to the scene where they've just been loaded onto the train. I. Can't. Stand. Sinatra! Sorry.

Burton was dreadfull, the rest of the cast wasnt much better. The Rommel scene is a bit silly. Germans a bit clownish. The truck driving was good though, sliding them round.
