Information sought re. Sergeant Fred Dorken WOP/AG. He joined 415 at its formation at Thorney Island and flew with the squadron until the squadron was moved to Eastmoor, approximately July 1944. The Book, Swordfish, states that most aircrew were transfered to 524 and 119 squadrons, Coastal Command to complete their operational tours. I would like to know where Fred went. He told me that he flew in a Sunderland crew. Fred died in May 1994, aged 72. Can anyone tell me which was his last squadron and where it was based.

The photo posted here is of the crew. Can anyone name any of the crew and identify the place. Fred is in front row, right.

Fred arrived in England with the first Canadian squadron ( became 401) , based at Croydon. Flew in Defiant night fighter version.
Was there when Croydon base was bombed. It was from here that he went to 415, Thorney Island. He left the service as a Master Warrant officer, and later joined the RCN, and served as a Petty Officer class in damage control.
