Came across this picture of Driver Webb. Did he make it back home?

Edited: must have survived, no entry on CWGC.

Here he is on the WO392/21 listings for August 1943. Sadly there is no camp against his name.

Thanks for adding that extra bit of information. Maybe a relative in the future maybe looking for his history. A photo and now his service number might help get them on the right track.

Edit: found him, POW # 225297, Stalag Camp 4C, Wistritz bei Teplitz

    True enough amberdog45,

I have had a run of families asking for help recently, but all are lacking a service number or an accurate date of death to apply for service records held at Glasgow. Its always nice to piece things together in such a way, as shown above.

    Best wishes

    Steve

    Regiment: Royal Army Service Corps

If any more info is found on him we can fill out the details further, I have looked for births in Washingborough, Lincs, but there were no results as yet. Although there are several born in the UK but with other names as well so difficult to be accurate.

Bamboo - you can always PM to see what info is around that may help - perhaps nothing, perhaps something

That's very kind of you. Most of the men in question were not POW's, the families have not got too much to go on, sometimes not even the regiment.

    Thanks again. :)
