Would anyone be able to help me with details of any battles that took place on or around this area at the beginning of July 1944.

I have just found out that one of my cousins, Flight Sergeant Percy Lenard Pallett (1294955) of 55 Sqdn, died on 3 July 1994 and is buried at Ancona War Cemetary (details on CWGC).

As I am completely new to researching WW2 any information or snippets would be of immense help.

    Many thanks in anticipation.
